What PSD features are supported

Smart objects, layer masks, clipping masks, all 27 blend modes, opacity, warps, perspective transforms, Drop Shadow, Stroke, Blend If, and live text layers render from your file as authored. The row-by-row table, including the route to take where a feature is not rendered today, is on PSD compatibility, and the per-filter table for smart filters is on Smart filters. The faster answer for a specific file is to upload it and read what came back.

Every slot you meant to address should be in that output, under the name you gave it in Photoshop. Anything missing is a layer to revisit.

What each signal means

is_editable false on a text layer means the layer renders with its original appearance in this version. Vertical text and justified alignment are the two usual causes, and each has a one-step fix in the support matrix on Text layers. font_available false means the layer’s typeface is not in your catalogue, so the render would fall back and attach a TEXT_FONT_FALLBACK warning. Upload that font, or set font explicitly. See Fonts. A smart object you expected and cannot see is hidden in the PSD. Read the warnings on a render

A render that succeeds still tells you what it had to work around.

Each code is stable, so your integration can branch on it. The full list is on Text layers, and the error codes are in Errors.

Where a feature is not rendered

Nothing leaves you at a dead end. Geometric effects rebuild as a warp on the smart object, tonal effects rebuild as adjustment layers, and decorative or random textures rasterise into a static layer, which costs nothing because they were never going to change per render. Type that is not editable in this version still renders. Rasterise it when it never changes, or place it as an image in a smart object slot when it does.

Keep everything supported live. A rasterised layer is frozen at the moment you flattened it; a live one stays accurate for every design you upload afterwards.
